Barnaby Lyons

EXPERIENCE

Barnaby Lyons has served as Chairman of the Board since July 2025. Mr. Lyons joined Bain Capital, LP in 2006 and is a Partner and the Global Head of Special Situations. Over nearly two decades, he has played a central role in building Bain Capital Special Situations into a global, multi-asset-class investing platform, leading transactions across corporate restructurings, real estate platforms, large-scale structured financings, and hard assets. Under his leadership, the business has launched and expanded its global flagship fund (GSS) as well as regional funds in Asia (SSA) and Europe (SSE), deploying more than $17 billion of capital since inception and establishing Bain Capital as one of the largest special situations investors worldwide. Mr. Lyons has overseen the platform’s growth across North America, Europe, and Asia, and has been instrumental in shaping Bain Capital’s through-the-cycle investment strategy. He currently serves as a director of Chindata Group and the India Resurgence Fund (India RF) and recently completed a successful tenure on the board of Virgin Australia. Prior to joining Bain Capital, he was a consultant with Bain & Company.

EDUCATION

Mr. Lyons holds an AB, Phi Beta Kappa, from Princeton University.
